Here’s how to prepare for your first visit with us and get started with therapy. We completely understand that you may be apprehensive about your first therapy appointment. Rest assured from the moment you set foot in one of our clinics, you’ll feel like you belong at Mercy Outpatient. Our welcoming front office staff members are happy to help you begin your path to recovery and answer any insurance, scheduling, or billing questions along the way.

Plan Ahead:

When scheduling your appointments,write it in your calendar, or create a reminder in your phone to make sure thatyou don’t miss your appointment. Let us know if you need transportation to andfrom your appointments at least a day in advance.

Prior to your first visit with us, please make sure of the following:

 

  • Bringyour Insurance forms and insurance cards with you to your appointment
  • Ifyour insurance requires a co-payment, please note that it is due at the time ofyour appointment.
  • Medicalrecords and/or radiology films from your physician have been requested andaccompany you to your appointment.
  • Youhave a list of any medications that you are currently taking.
  • Youhave a list of questions that you may want to ask one of our therapists
  • Ifyou are being treated for a workers’ compensation injury, please inform ourreceptionist, as you will need to get prior approval before your appointmentdate.
  • Ifyou need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call our office tolet us know as soon as possible.
  • Bringa Picture ID with you.

 

Dress Comfortably for Therapy

We highly recommend you wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing or athletic wear to all your treatments. Your clothing should allow us to evaluate your area of injury, so please dress accordingly. As for footwear, we suggest comfortable, closed-toe shoes – sneakers would be perfect. We’d also recommend against any type of heel. If you have any questions, please contact us prior to your first appointment.
